Durbuy...The Smallest town in the world

Durbuy can be easily reached by expressways and minor roads alike. Another reference point is the Ourthe Valley: Durbuy and the river are like twins, marking the boundaries of the regions of Condroz, Famenne and the Ardennes.

For a long time, Durbuy billed itself as "The Smallest Town In The World". Indeed, it was pretty small -- 400 residents or so -- and it had been granted "town" status way back in 1331. In 1977, though, Durbuy lost whatever claims it had to this distinction, as it joined with a number of surrounding communities into a single commune of 8,000 residents.

This small but enchanting place boasts a whole host of facilities. Thanks to this infrastructure it can cater for tourists, those in search of leisure activities and lovers of fine food. But on top of this it is an ideal spot for all kinds of conferences, not forgetting opportunities for small business deals.

Watch this silly video made in Durbuy, Belgium. LOL

Small Towns

Tomales currently has about 200 residents, although the town should have been larger. At times it was, with perhaps 2,000 residents at the height of the railroad era. However, Dutton's town has periodically suffered from Keys' luck. In 1877, a fire destroyed a hotel, the bank, a hat store, a drug store, and the watchmaker's shop. In 1891 and 1898, fires did damage in the eastern parts of town. The 1906 quake leveled farm houses and a new Catholic church. And in 1920, another fire almost leveled everything including three hotels, a restaurant, a saloon, the barbership, the butchershop, the blacksmith's shop, the livery stable, and the bank.
This is called a cow pond, sounds cute, just like the little town.

Warren Dutton - built neighboring settlements here in the 1850s. Keys' was a port lined with warehouses. Small schooners hauled local butter, potatoes, hogs down the creek that for a time flowed freely more than a mile to Tomales Bay. Dutton developed property on higher ground into a trading post and post office.
Dutton's "Upper Town" lasted. Keys' "Lower Town" did not; its founder died youngish in 1873, and maybe it was the potatoes that did him in. By that time, Keys Creek had silted in, the victim of erosive potato farming practices.

Thomas Stearns Eliot

Thomas Stearns Eliot was born on September 26, 1888 in St. Louis, Missouri. Because his family claimed strong roots in the city, Eliot grew up downtown, knowing both the affluent neighborhoods and rougher regions of St. Louis. He attended Smith Academy until he was sixteen and then spent one year at Milton Academy in Massachusetts before he entered Harvard University. While at the university, Eliot stumbled upon the poetry of Jules Laforgue, and because of it, decided that he would pursue a career as a poet. He began submitting his work to the Harvard Advocate and had them published in the school newspaper. He completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in 1910. That year, he moved to Paris, France, and although he made plans to earn his doctorate in philosophy at Harvard, he decided to move abroad to England in 1914 before he finished his studies.

There he met Ezra Pound, a highly influential leader of contemporary poets who encouraged Eliot to publish his work. As his poetry began appearing in several magazines, Eliot met and was enamored with Vivien Haigh-Wood. In 1915, the two married impulsively, much to the dismay of Eliot’s family, and lived in London … his tumultuous personal life and insatiable desire to reach broader audiences with his poetry deterred Eliot from appreciating his fame …for over fifteen years until Eliot suffered a breakdown that resulted in the couple’s divorce. In the meantime, however, Eliot worked tirelessly. His first collection of poetry, Prufrock and Other Observations, was published in 1917, followed by Poems in 1919. He was quickly acknowledged as one of the leading writers in progressive literature and 1922’s The Waste Land only further secured him as a premier author of the twentieth century. Similarly, his positions as the editor of The Criterion, a new literary journal in London, and as an editor for the publishing firm Faber and Faber, did not hurt his reputation.

However, his tumultuous personal life and insatiable desire to reach broader audiences with his poetry deterred Eliot from appreciating his fame. He continued producing collections of poetry at an accelerated pace as well as short stories, plays, and impressive volumes of literary criticism. As Eliot tried to maintain his writing and editorial duties, his personal life continued to suffer; when he divorced Vivien in 1933, he saw her committed to a mental hospital five years later. His poetry grew more melancholy and grave as World War II raged on, and at its conclusion, Eliot ceased writing poetry altogether. He continued to write plays, essays, and criticisms. He married Valerie Fletcher in 1947 and one year later was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. He remained writing in England for the rest of his life, and died on January 4, 1965.

Dragon is my friend

I have a cool software program called naturally speaking Dragon pad, pretty neat software comes with head microphone. You talk into the Mike attached to your head and program the Dragon to write for you. Saves you time from typing , and just saving you time in general. My mother gave this to me, you train it to speak the way you speak, and you are the only one able to speak to the Mike. You can have another voices trained to speak into the Dragon, and the more you talk into the Mike the more it understands your voice, in the way you talk, therefore , you don't have to type. You can probably find this at Circuit City are best buy , or even Wal-Mart. Every once in awhile . it messes up words, so you train it that one word that it messed up on. The Dragon is my friend.

A gift

A gift that is fully used is a gift that is truly
appreciated. If you are sincerely thankful for the abundance
in your life, then make something beautiful out of it.

Don't make the mistake of hoarding or hiding away those
things for which you are most thankful. For if you keep them
stashed away in the dark, they will fade away into nothing.

Instead, keep your abundance out in the open where you can
give it life from moment to moment. The more you make use of
it, the more valuable it will become.

Go beyond merely counting your blessings. Take them out,
immerse yourself in their value, and bring them more fully
to life each day.

What you're able to make use of most passionately and
effectively will then come to you in even greater abundance.
The best way to be thankful for anything is to completely
and purposefully put it to use.

The abundance you experience today is but a mere seed of
what can be. With each moment, nourish that seed and be
amazed at how magnificently it can grow.

Why You Aren't Making The Money

Why You Aren't Making The Money You Want To On The
Internet And What To Do About It!

Copyright © 2006 Quick Turn Marketing International,
Ltd.

Many clients come to me with problems…

The most common problem I hear from people is they
aren't making the kind of money they want to make with
their Internet business. They don't know what the
problem is and they want me to help.

I'll tell you what the problem is. Most of these
people are what I like to call opportunity seekers.
These are people that have too many sites and don't
spend any time focusing on ONE business. They may have
20 or 30 websites, with each site only breaking even
or making a few hundred dollars every month.

Most opportunity seekers are not making the money they
want or achieving their financial goals. Why?

They are making a common mistake. They have too many
sites, too many interests. This prevents them from
focusing their efforts and creating the six figure
income they dream of.

Focus Is The Key To Long-Term Success

If you want to succeed on the Internet, you are much
better-off staying focused. That means starting off
with one site or idea and perfecting it before moving
on to the next Internet adventure. Far too many people
have a get rich quick mind-set. In fact, I'd say
almost all opportunity seekers have this mind-set.

They jump from one program to another hoping one of
them will lead to success.

Opportunity seekers are always the first to jump on
the next big moneymaking bandwagon. It may be one
thing one month, another the
next month.

They may try to concentrate on affiliate marketing then
switch dramatically to e-book marketing the next.

Whatever seems to be working for others they jump into
with wild abandon, without considering their true
talents, abilities and interests.

These people are looking for some easy way to make
money. They think they can make money with Google
AdSense or just a web page, or even with a multilevel
marketing program. This is NOT how an entrepreneur
thinks! However, this is exactly how an opportunist
thinks.

They always are looking for shortcuts, and then wonder
why it isn't working.

It isn't working because you have no focus. You must
have focus. You must think like an entrepreneur. Focus
is one of the most vital aspects of your success. My
advice to these newbies is shut down 29 of your sites
and focus on one site, the one that best represents
your interests.

Optimize it. Work on refining it. Refine your sales
process and your back end on this single site and make
it successful BEFORE you move on to the next site.

Yes, I have many sites. But I am Dan Lok. You're not
there yet. Perfect your one site. THEN you can think
about moving on to other moneymaking ventures.

Horizontal Vs. Vertical Business

Many people have what I call a horizontal business. A
horizontal business has many sites in many different
niches, like hobby niches.

People who own horizontal businesses have 20 or more
separate business ventures. I recommend having a
vertical business instead. A vertical business is a
business that has depth and focus.

Having a vertical business means if you have a product
in a particular niche, like stock trading, focus on
selling products related to that and that only. Put
all your eggs in one basket and create a funnel
effect. This way you'll have one group of customers
and you can become a big fish in
a small pond.

You'll have all your eggs in one place yes… but you'll
become an expert egg layer and watch all your eggs
hatch with great success.

Make sense?

What is the problem with a horizontal business? You
aren't specialized.

It's almost impossible to make a six-figure income
with this kind of business because you don't spend
enough time on any ONE business.

When you have a vertical business, you have fine-tuned
your business so well competitors have a hard time
keeping up with you. People can't compete. You also
build a strong client base with satisfied customers.

Think Like An Entrepreneur

So, the biggest problem people have is they are
opportunity seekers.

The key is thinking like a true Internet entrepreneur.
Don't jump on the trend bandwagon. Don't ask what the
shortcuts are. An entrepreneur has a long-term vision.
You have to have a one-year, five year and ten year
vision. Find out what you want your business to look
like in the long-term.

Ask yourself, What do I want to accomplish ultimately?
Then decide whether your activities fit with your
goals. Stop jumping from one program to another. Focus
on one program, one site, and one great idea. This is
what you have to do if you want to make six figures.
It has nothing to do with your knowledge, skill set
experience etc. It has to do more with your focus.

Sit down. Think about it.

Stop jumping from one program to another and stop
getting sucked into false moneymaking schemes. Find
out what your goals are, what you want to accomplish.

This is a far superior approach. Yes, it takes a lot
of energy. But its worth it. In the long-term it's
much less tiring than diversifying your business.

Once you are an expert in your industry or niche, THEN
you can think about diversifying your business.

Make A Difference

A small, simple action is infinitely more effective than a
big, complicated excuse. Instead of putting your energy into
avoiding effort, put that energy into the effort itself, and
you'll get something of value in return for it.

There is something right now that needs to be done. Imagine
how great it will feel to have it finished, see what a heavy
weight will be lifted from you, then get busy and get it
done.

In this moment, in this place, you have a valuable
opportunity. You can make something happen, and you can make
a difference.

Forget about judging whether one task is difficult and
another task is easy. Don't be concerned about figuring out
what is pleasant and what is unpleasant.

Just take a deep breath, sit up or stand up straight, and
with a steady and confident sense of determination, get
busy. Soon you'll find yourself moving rapidly toward real
and fulfilling accomplishment.

You can worry and complain about how nothing ever gets done,
or you can take it upon yourself to make a real and positive
difference. The moment for action is now, so get busy and
convert this fleeting bit of time into an accomplishment
that will bring you value for a long, long time.

Joy to start the day

The air, crisp and sharp,
Darkest Black the clearest of skies.
Imagination, wild and running,
I see my capabilities, harsh and stunning.

Under the influence of the death fairy,
Depression pulls me from my bed.
I can feel the heat disappear,
Replaced with goose bumps in my cold house.

Operating under the controlling force,
The trudging march I take to the door.
The mist from warm breath, from the warm sun,
Gives an image of the depth of enjoyment.

Rolling down my rosy pink cheeks,
The tears they begin to freeze,
Produced by the feeling of meaning,
Lost in the maze of cascading white clouds,
It consumes me with delight

Crunching on the path,
The only sound of reality,
As time has stopped in this kingdom of sun,
My heart is at home in this pretended paradise.

The connection is broken,
I no longer care,
Or continually ask, why, why it feels forever,
Negativity is the cause of this acidic sever.

The separation complete from body and soul,
It's calling me and then under I go.
The stinging sheath, just above me,
Realization, I try to break free.

Grasping for the surface, the sensation numbs me,
No strength, no faith,
A smooth wall, for this enclosure,
Hands gliding a cup, a silent cry,
Gasp for breath, filling my lungs with knives.

From the edge I stare, at the anguished eyes beneath,
Begging for help, but there I stay,
I stand and wave goodbye,
Looking and waiting, wanting to die.

Fingertips searching for an open door.
Of the sunshine and happiness that once was there,
Oblivious to my surroundings, I become,
The clawing nails drift away, I have succumb.

I fall silently to the bottom,
All that is left to hear,
Is the beat of my heart, loose its pace?
Quietly fade away to nothing, to stop this race.

Squashed underneath the reflective of myself.
I awake with a start it was all a bad dream...
But wait, I feel the warmth of a far off sun-ray.
Brings somewhat joy to start the day.

Incoming links

Incoming links are the links to a particular page coming from other websites. These links refer how many external website links you have in your web-page. Incoming links are more important than internal links because these links tell search engines that how many websites recognize you. This increases your authenticity resulting link popularity.

The following are a few ways by which you can increase your incoming links.

1. first of all find relevant sites, which are related to your website. For example
if you have a shoe store, then you can exchange links with other shopping sites who deal in fashion wear. This can increase your traffic and lure more visitors.

2. You can simply search link partners in online web directories. All major search engines provide web directories where you can find categorized website listing. After deciding your pertinent sites you can exchange links with them.

3. Search for sites which accept site submissions. You can visit those sites and directly add your link and request them to exchange link with you.

"NOTICE" ( I need some advice )...

I received a letter from The State Compensation Insurance Fund of a notice regarding permanent disability benefits.

The State Comp. Ins. Fund, the claims administration for Interim (The company I was working for when I got injured) is handling your Workers compensation claim. This notice is to advise you of the status of permanent disability payments for your workers comp. injury of Jan. 1, 2005.

We have determined that your injury has resulted in 10% permanent disability, which is valued at 6,655.00, based on Dr. Fernandez's reports. Your weekly compensation rate is 220.00 based on your earning of 469.43 per week.

The payment in the amount of 3,953.48 was sent separately.

Benefits were paid to you from March 23, 2007 through September 9, 2007.

We have paid you the total amount of 3,953.48 in permanent disability benefits. This amount will be deducted from any award you may receive. This amount represents 100%% 0f the value of your permanent disability benefits. State Compensation Ins. Fund is withholding the remaining 12% or 798.60 to cover potential attorney fees.

Included in this amount is: Permanent disability lump sum(s) totally 500.00. The overpayment totally 3, 953. 48 for the following period(s) at the rate of 220.00 per week, and 9/9/07 (Partial day) of 27.77... We will assert credit for the overpayment against Permanent disability.

These benefits are ending because your permanent disability benefits has been pain in full, less for reasonable attorney fees.

What the HELL does the letter mean, please explain to me what this exactly mean, I think I am going crazy, and they are the ones to blame...

Pictures....

These are some pictures I drew, my character named "Harry". I created "Harry" along time ago when I was in College, and I never got around with doing anything like cartoon strips or anything like that. Let me know what you think...;)
